[Married] Julia & Justin
This summer I had the honor to help the incredibly talented Josh Gooden by second shooting a wedding in Raphine, Virginia. Although they call NY home, Julia & Justin traveled home to exchanged vows on top of Justin's family's stunning mountaintop farm. When Julia floated down the isle in that seamless white gown I had to get ahold of myself. The perfect picture of elegance and grace. Guests from all over the world mingled to the tunes of Miss Tess at cocktail hour, a rockin' band out of NY, munching on champagne, lemonade, and homemade chocolate chip cookies. Late into the crowd danced the night away hillside in the auto garage turned gorgeous reception venue. Each DIY decor piece was curated with much thought and love, as both of their parents made apple butter as guest favors and garden flowers mixed with family photos held presence in the room. Their family even made their unique and delicious wedding cake: layers of pull-apart bread! (I may have snagged Josh and I a piece...or three. I was petrified to knock it over!) With such gorgeous details made with heart and an extraordinary celebration filled with fun and exciting guests from across the world (even Afghanistan!), the incredible love and support this couple has for one another is apparent. Justin & Julia, it was my pleasure to witness such a stunning event, congratulations! I wish you guys an amazing life together, traveling the world by each other's sides. Josh! You are incredible. Have I said that enough since I have known you? You are a man of many talents, tackling both the photography and videography. It was a true pleasure working with you, but more so getting to know you, and I hope to continue to work with you in the future. You've shot my wedding, so you're stuck with me now. ;) Here are some of my favorite images from shooting with Josh. Check out his post and some of his FILM shots on his blog!
The ceremony and the view. A Virginia girl at heart, love those Appalachians!
The mastermind, Josh, at work. This is what your second shooter is there for, right? ;)
Quite possibly the perfect bouquet. And can we talk about that dress??!?!?!
Family quilts and handmade table overlays transformed this garage.
WAY COOL cake. Delicious.
